Newton Poem by Martin O'Neill

Newton

Rating: 5.0

A tennis ball, once hit, cannot be recalled.
Similarly, when Audrey's foot slipped, her car also,
Could not be recalled.

An object, when acted upon, will react in an equal
And opposite
Direction.
Audrey reacted equally and oppositely
To Zafar's car coming from the side.

Dave, in green, with latex gloves,
Cradled Audrey's head, called her name.
But, as the staccato strobing blue lights
Cast their ghastly hue over the scene
Audrey sighed.

New balls please.

Poignant and heartfelt. Almost leached of grief but imbued with a sadness and a longing and searching dispair.

REACTION OF THE ACTION, AND SOMETHING OUT OF OUR MIND, OUT OF OUR CONTROL CAN NOT BE RETURN BACK AND CORRECTED.

Guess we all feel like going back and starting again at some point in our life. Very good piece.
