Nice Stay Poem by LucyAnne Wanjiku

Nice Stay

I watched you walk away, yet I couldn't stop you
I saw you shrug and go, but there was nothing I could do
I tried to call you back, but your mind was made up
I tried to rub you off, but no one could fill the gap

I knew the tears would dry, but for some time I had to wait
I tried to lure you back, but you never took the bait
I knew you were really gone, but I couldn't let you go
I tried to bring you back, but you simply said 'NO! '

The sun came up this morning, when I saw you wave at me
I kept on staring at you, although there was nothing to see
For your smile had subsided, and you had already left
I felt so elated, I almost sat and wept

I know you might not know this, but you're my darling friend
I know I rarely say this, but I love your crazy trend
I always want to have you, please always be quite near
For if I have your friendship, there's so much less to fear
