Night Vision

I wake in the middle of another night
wrapped in the company of my own thoughts
the inherent designs of recollection
and the bottled notions of my conception
blend in a myriad of a wicked display
of memories unspoken
and unwritten stories waiting to be born
swirling in the rivers of my mind
as I tug in the hovering thread
that unravels the fabric of my creativity
as endless words appear in their cascade
falling before me in their gift
like silent flakes of snow
floating on the icy breeze of a winter storm
I size them all
these coveted notes that come
as I compose a melody of my interpretation
facets without flaw and without taint
reflections in the diamond
that levies the length of my being
my sorrow joy love and regret
gratefully intertwined
like the roots of a noble tree
bathing deep in the giving waters
of my humble devotion
as they flow through veins in moving limbs
reaching that expanding palm
releasing the seeking fingers
that envelope the instrument of ink
sweet dark nectar
filters upon the beckoning ivory slate
cleansing me in it's donation
and thus
yet another offered sliver of my soul
whispers once more
as the signature of my expression
graces the margins of the calling page
