Nightmares Poem by Kalee Skriver

Nightmares

Shadows lengthen across the page,
casting fearful apparitions spanning over every age.
Monsters, spiders, and scary men, and being chased yet again.
Nightmares frolic in the dead of night,
but it is reality that causes the majority of fright.
As history repeats itself, I discover more stories beyond the bookshelf.
If only there was way to turn off my mind,
perhaps then I could find a way to unwind.
