Nights Are Dark Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Nights Are Dark

Nights are dark

Nights are dark
From very start
Creates fear in mind
With no shelter to find

Mind becomes restless
Tension appears on face
Many thoughts invade
As if to make you worried and dead

I am fully in grip of past
That does allow me to last
And retire me peacefully for sleep
I remain awake and try to keep calm

I try to surrender
With prayers
And close eyes
For dreams to try

You were my best friend
But could not go till an end
It was destiny of misfortune
And I preferred to go alone

I try to recollect
And evaluate last act
With no complaint to anyone
I close the eyes again
