Nights Lord Poem by Lonnie Hicks

Nights Lord

Every night
Dark greets me
a surly beast
of uncertain ancestry
in whose presence
I confess
all my secrets
he I half greet
because he offers me
domed pleasures
and dark moments
iron symmetry
soothing my sense
of irony
he and I cohabitate;
dream pleasures
mix within my fears
a concoction
which rakes
my soul
isolates it
thrills it
where the
mental
image of it
is obscured
blurred
in Time's Space
between
now,
present
and the future;
all my past patinas
come alive
ie with me and you
Dark Lord

Chocolate Master
I
I fringe leap
into your
Dark Orbs
screaming

ecstasies' unnervings
hands extended
night's rush
on-coming:
unseen
ambivalently
greeting.
