Nimbus Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Nimbus

And that day I lost myself
Lost myself in the vast ocean that was her eye
Jovial were the thoughts that soaked against the waves of infancy
Surfaces wore the calmness that crowded each breath
An abundance of air spoke
Demanding heavy sighs that grew each whisper of the wind
Bequeathed were the angels in heavens sky
Small dimpled cheeks that grew with glee
The sights grew as dreams wide awake
Leaving behind the hollow frowns that wept without her
That wept in a sunless paradox
Without glow
The mere coming of her smile
Eyes that never grew forlorn
For the halos there are so deep
Vast as the ocean I've fallen
Dreams in its own innocence
Intense as the pleasant lips that eclipse the awakening of each stare they give
So they lay
Lay in the sleep of each wave that soon comes to rest
just as they were to start
In the endless array that captivates the clouds to move an inch further
Over the vast ocean that are your eyes
