No Consequences (Ribbons - An Observation 2) Poem by Charlie Annalls

No Consequences (Ribbons - An Observation 2)

Daddy's dazzled by the lights
Fairydust is in his eyes.
And as he runs, he cannot see
The knives that stand proud from the tree.
Anaesthetised by his youth,
Searing pain reveals the truth.

A mothers lament

All across the world mothers watch
Their childrens' fathers
Cut themselves to ribbons
On their own - stupidity.

And still they are loved.

Superb! A wonderful allegory of the blind stupidity of men. We're not all like it though!
