No Guarantee

Rating: 5.0

(dedicated to Erhard Hans Josef Lang)

There’s no guarantee
You’ll be successful
Even if you fail
You’ll end up gaining
More than you lose

You can only do safe very rarely
But you can’t always play it safe
There’s a risk-taking streak in you
Although you passionately like to give
The impression of being cautious

(inspired by Ravel’s String Quartet in F major)

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

A person who is inactive commits no mistakes, while a person who acts may commit a few mistakes. But a person acting is better than the one who is not acting at all. A nice poem indeed!
