No Lady, No Gentleman Poem by Melpomene's Tears

No Lady, No Gentleman

Rating: 5.0

Her temper echoed her name
Vibrant, angry and defiant
He was calm as a lake on a summer’s day
Soothingly cool, dangerously deep

Mirror images of each other
Stubborn flashing eyes and pride
Clawing nails and bitter words
To hide a deep-rooted love

Thru prison and war
Hunger and murder
Dainty hands turned calloused
The hard bachelor altered by love

She thought she loved another
He thought he was doomed to seek another
Two dear possessions lost, Bonnie and Tara
Tore both hearts further apart

He wished he didn’t give a damn
She hoped tomorrow would bring strength anew
They belonged together, love renewed
Scarlett and her Rhett forever true.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
A tiny tribute\piece to one of my favourite couples. May we all have Scarlett's will and courage to fight, make mistakes and fall desperately in love.

With enough courage, you can do without a reputation.

A great reminiscent of an epic love story. Written like a true fan with mellifluous passion for the story.
