No Leniency Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

No Leniency

Leniency

I want to come out
And openly talk about
Life’s problem
With people as it concerns them too

Many problems have pushed me in corner
Forced me to take shelter
Under wrong shed
And misled

It continued unabated
As I kept it unrelated
Enjoyed present age
As if good and beautiful bird really enjoyed in “cage'

It has given me no internal joy
I feel happy but do not enjoy
It pushes me into depression
The guilt forces me to go for confession

I want to be free woman again
With no more suffering from pain
I shall try to curb that tendency
Which had forced me to show leniency?

No Leniency
