No Longer In The Shade Poem by Carole Davis

No Longer In The Shade

Rating: 5.0

The ocean breeze brushed my hair.
I walk along the beach at dawn
Not a worry not a care.
I am no longer a pawn.

To the desire of fools and cut throat hearts.
Dancing to my own beat to the drums
New freedom and my soul departs
To feel the magic of music and the hum.

Life kisses me gently then grips me with fire
I experience everything open and free
Passion burning with hot desire
Mystery has always been the key.

I am power I am grace
Nothing can hold me back from flying
My lifes lines I can trace
My hearts soul I am vying.

Images and dreams I hold so fast
Nothing to hold me down as I drift amongst the stars
The evil has no hold from my past
I have begun to heal the scars

Now I dance under the moonlight
Freedom no longer afraid
My soul beams strong and bright
I am no longer in the shade.
