No Matter What

The sun can shine on a dog’s ass
That’s what people say
And I know from experience
That every dog will have his day

When you are blamed unjustly
When everything is not okay
When the price that you are asked
Is just too much to pay

When friends have all gone home
And won’t come out to play
When even blood relations
Have turned and walked away

Don’t fall upon your knees
Because only cowards pray
Stand up on your feet
Be a man and just say nae

Show them bending over
That is not your way
And fighting till the end
That is your forte

Show them that the truth
You never will betray
Let them bring the army
The police and C.I.A.

Make them understand
The meanings of the word repay
Fight back until the death
No matter what nor come what may

Poem of the Day

poet Robert Browning

After
by Robert Browning

Take the cloak from his face, and at first
Let the corpse do its worst!

How he lies in his rights of a man!
Death has done all death can.
