No More Than An Insect's Life. Poem by Hailey Marie

No More Than An Insect's Life.

Those butterflies are beautiful things
Fluttering by on beautiful wings
Occasionally settling on the tip of a flower
Never in the same spot for more than an hour
Living simple moments on only the breeze
No silly little feelings preventing its leave
Sustained on nectar a truly sweet life
Birds and frost the main causes of strife
Rejoining the swarm no longer alone
Migrating together to a much warmer home
We have to take time to notice these things
Could we learn to shed our skin and grow pretty wings
Reborn overnight in the cool morning dew
But dying again when the sunset is through
Wasting time to make money to buy us more time
We're pinned up just like them believing the lies
