No One Can Ever Know Poem by Christine A Kysely

No One Can Ever Know

No one can ever know
What truly lies within
We all put on our faces
From where and whence
We’ve been.

No one can ever know
The challenges that we’ve faced
The fears, the glories
The victories
The times that we’ve lost face.

No one can ever know
The love that’s in our heart
And who we’ve loved
And who has loved us back
And what affairs have been
The things that have kept lovers far apart
The facts that have kept love hidden
The plain and simple circumstances
of love that was forbidden.

No one can ever know
What’s really on our minds
Are we in the here and present
Or are we thinking back in time?

No one can ever know
which faith that we hold on too
who and what we believe in
in times of hardship and true despair
that which it is that we cling to.

No one can ever know
What really lies in the next place
When the calm of our last breath
Lie’s frozen on our face.

No one can ever know
So many things one can only try to know oneself
That is the best that one can hope
That one can get to truly know
The face that’s in the mirror.
The only way to cope.

Your poem expresses many truths here about all that we are & how we cope. Nicely done. Spiritsong
