No One Else, Except Poem by Neela Nath Das

No One Else, Except

Night and me
whisper with each other- - -
Is this that I begged from
our lives?
night behind her mysterious
veil sits beside me.
The moon weaves the glassy
light to cover the sleeping
roofs, the trees, the plants.
Silently, the nocturnal
birds stretch their warm
wings breaking the silence
of the moon-bathed forests.
The stars see their faces
in the water of the flowing
rivulets, of seas and oceans!
Night with her artistic
fingers equip the sky,
the moon and the nature beneath.
She knows my story...
My pain...
And
my bygone days
are the contrasted episodes
of my present!
My source of tear!
My smile which I tried
to gather throughout
my life needs more
joy to turn my
life a complete
fairy tale,
more magnetic than
Anderson's Tales.
Night solaces me- -
Let the sun come out,
I'll tell moon to tell
the sun to convey
you more delight,
more joy to broaden
your smile!
My pain is my reminiscence,
it teaches me to
taste life's bitter cup.
So, I forbid her
to tell my story
to anyone!
She nods her head
and her gossamer skirt
touches my forehead...
The cool breeze blows
to bloom flowers..
I sleep in Night's lap!
