No Reason/Bez Razloga

the twilights are spreading the shadows
across the sharp edges of the horizon
the fires of the night are dying out
but this is not called a reason

and nothing dawns for us
as easily as the will for a new day
and not even that is called a reason

we halt our breathing beneath the arch
and scattered between a life and a dream of it
we deem the time a reason

the doors open break the sound of footsteps
our walk's been stolen from too many roads
and not even they call themselves a reason

we unlock our hearts too much locked against them
and all the reasons on the doormat
lie without a single word of justification

because so insolently and proudly before the twilight
before the fire the
dawn the day the life its roads and a dream
we prophecy that we are the reason for them all

Poem of the Day

poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

I heard the bells on Christmas day
Their old familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet the words repeat
Of peace on earth, good will to men.
