'No, Thank You' Poem by Felix Lugo

'No, Thank You'

DEDICATED TO ALL THE BEAUTIFUL WOMEN WHO DEALT/DEALING WITH THESE 'SO CALL MEN'

Girl so beautiful but she won’t believe what I have to say. She gives me a look and turns away. I slowly get in your pathway. Tried to hold her hand for comfort. Sudden movement made her alert. I checked my watch to see if I overdid my time. She gives me another moment of words then heads off to the shadows. I stood there as her beauty was gone and left me with the essence of her perfume. Why most girls assume we all the same and that we all try to play the same game? Speak some words and make a girl thinking wrong. No! Thank you players for destroying that faith girls once had in men. No! Thank you for giving them more reasons never to ever trust again. Your stupid lies and words that come out your mouth in all the wrong times. The way you swear you would forever be there and never showed your face. For the times you made her look stupid and laughed to your silly mind-games. No! Thanks for taking her innocent and making it seem it was just a one night stand. Yeah…No! thanks for being that man. The times you left her to cry alone in the dark. The times she thought you kept her in your heart. But really No! thanks for deliberately sabotaging the “real men” ever having a chance. Your actions don’t only hurt the one in front but all the men who are nowhere near or as like the character you created among us. Girls there are “GREAT MEN” out there. Take it from me. We’re quiet and shy not because we don’t want to find you. It’s because we feel you may treat us as if we were “them” Keep your head up. You can’t find that “gentlemen” looking down. But don’t worry too much about that. Because a real man would lift your head up and show you there’s more to life than wasting tears. -Lugo
