I walked out the door
You failed to follow
Stark reality
Hit me hard
There was no tomorrow

Empty inside
Nothing but sorrow
Numb
Shocked
Distraught
Grief soon to hit me

Finally
The penny has dropped
The previous months
Have been only a lie

Trusting and gullible
Right to the last
Excuses i found
To make all right

Stupidly believing
In integrity
Neglecting to see
Not applicable
To all

Time out now needed
Some space for me
Gather thoughts together
Maybe time alone
is the best thing for me
