Treasure Island

No Wings & Knowing

I pried open your eyes but I can't make you see
This temporary floating memory
it's Halloween, it's haunting me

This hallowing affinity
This sobering spring cleaning queen
The pawn sings, the king weeps

Where are we now, but a game of vows
The thrones been thrown away

But it's ok
Another day
Another way
It's bringing forth another wave

The waves crash, the seasons change
We're here at last and so depraved

And so you pray
And it's ok
And if you stray
It's only may
And may I say...

This strategy is fleeting
Like the tragedy of ones dreaming

Masked by all that you believe in
Acclimating to the sound of ones reason

This tone reveals your angels and demons
I've been cursed to serenade then charged with treason

But I chose this song I play
Because I know and go beyond believing
I am blessed in this way

poet George Gordon Byron

So we'll go no more a-roving
So late into the night,
Though the heart still be as loving,
And the moon still be as bright.

For the sword outwears its sheath,
