Nobilis Amore Poem by Alaude Solus

Nobilis Amore

They say all’s fair in love and war
But what knight knows not of chivalry?
For love is what gives him the strength
To protect his dame and country

A battle troubles not his mind
But what awaits him in the field
Not to make any casualties
But to spare with sword and shield

A wish to return in peace
Knights unsheathe and draw their swords
They stand together with allies
They speak what seem their final words

Yet to ask for the maiden’s hand
The knight prepares his final stand
