Nocturnal Poem by Lazarus Shatipamba

Nocturnal

Rating: 4.5

When the sun sinks to sing the end of day
And many men on their beds lay to sleep

To dream about the coming of a morning
When the moon will show her smiling face to the world.

When the shining stars come out to light the night
And the staring owl hoots to announce the wolves that prowl these grounds.

I
Like a mouse
Will creep from deep in my house

To rush through bushes in the forest
Making sure the eye of the black cat
Does not spy me on my way to sway
The Bat from doing something bad

To the fiery firefly flying up high in the sky.
