Not In Oneness Poem by Rm. Shanmugam Chettiar

Not In Oneness

Your desire of me and mine of you
Are not alike.
My dream of you and yours of me
Are different.
I don’t want myself to be you and you
Don’t want yourself to be I
As long as we are separate
As man and woman in sex.
It is futile to think that we are one.
Conjugation is a temporary process
Of pleasure existing in two identities.
