Not My Home Poem by Kimani wa Mumbi

Not My Home

This world cannot be my home!
I can't get a day's rest
And I'm all alone!
It can't be my home,
Friends forsake me
When I'm in need
Now all I do is roam.
My prayers go unanswered,
My tears get me no answers.
And now I've lost faith
Shall I be brought to book?

Dreams I had are fading
With the mirage in the distance;
Like how I'd have a happy home –
A happy wife and child.
I cannot be home here
Now I daydream and fantasize
But that's all I do:
Surely there must be some better place.
