Not Quite Poem by Marilyn Jean

Not Quite

Almost that
Next, together no wonder
Shall they have diner
Again
Anxiously waiting
How many more
Him out of her mind
Them in her heart
Almost perfection
Him writing on her mind
Alone
Talking was the best part
Often he came next to her
Days did not count
Never
Once asleep dreaming love
Craving a gentle touch
Next was another short walk
Not quite
But not much more
Soon
All the details washed down
the big drain of life
Somebody knew
Forever
