Not Seduced By Gloss Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Not Seduced By Gloss

The time to evaluate and assess one's life,
Should be done with a clear consciousness.
With a self examination taken day and night.

However...
Many do take flight from flaws they wish to cover.
Until all exits are closed that imposes,
One to face truth.
A truth that reduces its sweetness.
Or seduced by gloss one chooses others to perceive.

'And when a dark night rises,
Seekers to do evil prowl to dupe folks.
Fed by produced videos to boost wicked egos.'

What?

'I said...
The time to evaluate and assess one's life,
Should be done with a clear consciousness.
With a self examination taken day and night.'

But...
You didn't say that.
I did.
