Not Slowing Down Poem by Maverick Jones

Not Slowing Down

Rating: 3.5

It's going to be a long cold road to travel,
making me feeling like I'm walking on hot gravel,
and my world will start to unravel.
I don't mind walking alone,
I know that I am heading straight into a danger zone,
this is going to be a painful ride that will hurt all the way to the bone,
I can already hear the darkness calling my name,
I need to tame my inner demon before I enter the flame.
Like the legends say in order to be bless you must be cursed,
my curse is the my demons deadly outburst,
but she was there when I was at my worst,
and when it all came crashing down I still am out first.
However the time has come for me to grow,
I have been feeling like my world has been moving slow,
and I have to find a real place to go,
before my brain takes the ultra blow.

I'm the underdog that fights like a champ,
I'm all jacked up on amp,
you better step off before I send you back to summer camp.
I'll have you so scared you'll wish Jason was back,
but it's not Friday the 13th and when I attack I don't lack,
lets just say I'm a little whacked.
The monster in my head,
is saying go ahead.

This is my last shot to the top,
and no one will get in my way or will get popped,
Your better run like your running from the cops,
cause I am never going to stop,
till the day I drop,
this pen ain't no prop,
you better keep moving or you'll get chopped.
