Not Today Poem by gershon hepner

Not Today

Chastity and continence
are healthy and make lots of sense,
Augustine, saintly, once maintained,
but then reversed himself and stained
his reputation, without sorrow
declaring piously: 'Tomorrow
I want them both but not today,
because I need more time to play.'
I think he thought that carpe diem
could wait for a.m. in the p.m.

On 8/1/08 Linda wrote this clerihew:

Said Augustine the saint:
Sex is wrong, God ain't.
one, he's really three,
so threesomes are for me.
