Nothing Genuine Is Expressed Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Nothing Genuine Is Expressed

We say we pray,
For forgiveness and clarity.
When we are forgiven and the clarity comes...
We become disbelievers.
And we begin to deceive.

Those who can see through us...
See every trick we have that's up our sleeves.

Many perceive what they say,
Is enough to convey their version of truth.
And out from their mouths,
Comes words to impress.
Nothing genuine is expressed.

It would be an awakening experience,
If every Disney character greeted visitors cussing!
Now...
That would be worth the exorbitant entrance fee.
With Mickey chasing Minnie butt naked.
