Nothing Left, Nothing More Poem by jess schwarcz

Nothing Left, Nothing More

Remember the time we were just friends, just friends?
Than I had to go screw it up because I wanted more,
Now there’s nothing left of this friendship,
But this sad song, nothing more, nothing more.

Now there’s an awkward silence left between us.
I don’t know what to say,
Because I screwed it up.
I don’t know if I should go,
Or I should hang on to what may be left.
There’s nothing I can say,
To undo what I’ve said or did to us.
Because,

Remember the time we were just friends, just friends?
Than I had to go screw it up because I wanted more,
Now there’s nothing left of this friendship,
But this sad song, nothing more, nothing more.

I should have seen this coming
I should have kept my mouth shut, but I didn’t.
Now when I think of you
It’s not what we could be but what we were.
Now there’s nothing left, nothing more.
Because,

Remember the time we were just friends, just friends?
Than I had to go screw it up because I wanted more,
Now there’s nothing left of this friendship,
But this sad song, nothing more, nothing more.
