Nothing Something

I want to write poetry
Only because I am vain
Because it does not exist
But only because it does
I cannot find it
Neither in front of me
Behind me
Or in my subconscious
Poetry does not exist in reality
Because words are worse than air
Hot or cold
But what does not exist sometimes exists
Like the Covid disease
We do not know what happened
We died
We came
We saw
And the poetry wrote itself
Requited
But un-recited
So much so that sometimes I ask myself
What says the poetry book on the shelf
It says nothing
Because poetry is something
