Nothing To Do! Poem by Charles Zhang

Nothing To Do!

Dear reader,

“Now, ” I thought to myself, “lie down, and shall I
write a poem? A sonnet? Sketch some lines? Maybe a haiku? '
I don’t really know... which is fine
as it would mean i don’t have much to do:

‘home now in a wrinkly shirt; plop
onto the bed with a button undone - or two?
I don’t really know... i won’t bother counting;
too busy being happy with nothing to do.

Blinds are down, tie on an empty chair...
I'm not usually this lazy, but there is no strife,
just not in the mood for a smoke or for sex.
Right now, I can enjoy just thinking about life.

I’ve felt happier, but this is definitely okay.
Dear reader, happiness need not be gay.
I like the sun under the sky
painted in a beautiful hue.

Sincerely,
the man who hasn’t got a thing to do

COMMENTS OF THE POEM
Charles Zhang 27 August 2011

Throughout writing this, I had a feeling I didn't express everything I wanted to express accurately. Perhaps I'll come back to edit later. That is, if I still have nothing to do.
