Now Poem by Stanley Cooper

Now

I can’t for the life of me think about how
To explain the relative importance of now
Way way back when now was then
We never thought we’d have now again

The past, right now is a mind abstraction
For the present merely a now distraction
Now is what’s now actual
Not abstract, but factual

Minutes from now, known as the future
Stitched to what’s past with a now suture
What’s been, what will come now and then
Now will return over and over again
