Now You Began To Turn Poem by Shilesha Johnson

Now You Began To Turn

I feel as if you knew what you were up against
And even then you stayed with me
You knew what you were dealing with
But all you wanted was for us to be
I told you several times that I wasn’t ready
Told you that I wasn’t into going steady
You told me that you understood
And you wouldn’t hate me because of my decisions
You said you never could
But that soon began to change
Once people were all up in your ear
That all went away
And the times you said you cared
I soon realized were a waist
A waits of breath on your part
Because the things you said to me didn’t come from your heart
And you can say all that you want
But you and I both know that you’re only putting up a front
Because behind closed doors
Weather you want to admit or not
You still want me to be yours
And I was willing to forgive you
I was willing to at least be friends
But that has all changed now
And you only have yourself to thank in the end
