Numb Poem by Shirley K.W. Ka

Numb

Rating: 5.0

I feel no straining pain
Nor beating heart
I feel no cold, in the frost
Numbed to the core
The pain has stopped
No one goes in, the door is locked

Covered in Ash
Frozen in Ice
No bleeding will proceed

Living cells frozen alive
Frozen, to fossilize
Thickly covered by a wall of ice
No brutal spear shall enter

The day will come
When the time is right
For defrosting and resuming life
But for now it's best stayed frozen
For now it's best stayed numb.

I like this. A classic. There are times that I feel this way.
