Numb: The Intervention Poem by Cori Arbuss

Numb: The Intervention

Trapped in a corner, trapped forever more
Trapped and locked within my fantasies
Of a love so painful, it took over my entire vision
No one could save me...no one would save me...
I was just so in love.

This was not so.

Hands outstretched into my little abyss
Hands stretched the holes of forever and let the light pour in
Kind, whispering voices broke my veil and let me see my life for what it was
They finally helped me see
It was all in my head

All in my head.
