O sacred heart of Jesus Christ!
Afilled with sorrow from our sins,
Thy precious blood bleeding from it
With anguish, from our blunders made.

Love radiating endlessly;
Heart yearning to forgive our sins;
What sufferings you underwent
To pay the price to set souls free!

What kindness filled eyes gaze on us!
Thy piercing looks can touch all hearts,
Converting souls in mortal sins,
Into remorse and repentance.

With halo round Thy divine head,
And lips that silently console
All minds in chaos and travail,
Bestowing peace and joy unique.

Thy countenance, calm and serene;
And Hand that blesses those who plead
For favors and eternity
In Heaven- hear our prayers Lord!
