O' Silence

O' silence please speak to me,
Else this solitude will shroud me;
O' silence please befriend me,
'cause now I have no one around;

Once I had people whom I could love,
and I was proud like a man on a throne;
Little did I know that seeds of a bleak future for me
were already sown;

Now with my loved ones gone
I find myself in a strange throng,
where their din gets crowned
and my voice gets drowned,
And feebly though, I question my life,
'What I have lost, shan't it be found? '

When I essay to find a little piece of peace,
This quiet begins to daunt me,
And alludes me that I'm all alone,
That I have nobody to call my own;

O' silence please speak to me,
I'm dying to hear a voice;
Alas! I've to speak to my own echoes
as you've left me with no choice!

Poem of the Day

poet George Gordon Byron

So we'll go no more a-roving
So late into the night,
Though the heart still be as loving,
And the moon still be as bright.

For the sword outwears its sheath,
