O' Timeless Life

O’ timeless life, most vivid dream,
bestowed upon eyes deepest green.

Shy river long ago you were
gentle hum within your birr,
meandered through past dandelion,
the guiding light above Orion
‘fore vast and stormy sea of blue
whispered to the wild in you.

O’ timeless life, most vivid dream,
bestowed upon eyes deepest green.

Whilst ageless Sun, bright crescent Moon
did look upon Egyptian tomb,
around your Ancient Pharaoh lips
ran Roman lovers fingertips.
A love affair that captured hearts,
scholars of the classic arts.

O’ timeless life, most vivid dream,
bestowed upon eyes deepest green.

Your lioness’s eyes did gaze
on sunsets born through shimmered haze.
Measured grace, courageous heart
natures fearsome work of art
Beauty of the boldest kind
most precious beast that one could find

O’ timeless life, most vivid dream,
bestowed upon eyes deepest green.

A joy your lonely voice would bring,
to Ovids heart when you did sing.
Shared friendly words, walked hand in hand
while cast away on distant sand.
Augustus twisted fate upon him
his sorrow only soothed by poem.
O’ timeless life, most vivid dream,
bestowed upon eyes deepest green.

Poem of the Day

poet Sir Walter Raleigh

EVEN such is Time, that takes in trust
Our youth, our joys, our all we have,
And pays us but with earth and dust;
Who in the dark and silent grave,
