Oblivion Poem by Elena Plotkin

Oblivion

Rating: 5.0

Oblivion is not a state but a place
where all things go to leave no trace.
With only a memory to keep them here,
Is it any wonder they wish to disappear?

Oblivion is not a place but a name,
where all things are called to remain.
With nothing here to call them back,
Is it any wonder of what we've lost track?

Oblivion is not a name but a plan
where all things try to escape man.
With no one here they can trust,
Is it any wonder they do what they must?

Oblivion is not a plan but a fate
where all things resign themselves of late.
With no one here to question why,
Is it any wonder they don’t say goodbye?
