Oblivious Poem by George Damon

Oblivious

Rating: 5.0

Every day I see the same people
Out on their lives and their daily routine
I look at them now and it makes me think
What is happening and what does this mean

Just sitting
Just staring
Oblivious to the world

They stare at nothing as the world stares back
Not noticing they are trapped in but a trance
They ignore every opportunity they get to escape
As the world goes by in the midst of a dance

Just look at you now and where you could be
You never look away nor make a flinch
You can save yourself just take a look
I can help you now but with a pinch

I mean no offence when I say I pity you
You stare at nothing and I see just doubt
Well I can tell you now there more than that
Because all you need to do is just reach out

Here is your stop you can take it or leave it
You can stay here now and stare into infinity
But I say to you it could be much more
You could spend your time altering your destiny
