Obsolete Ways Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

Obsolete Ways

Some have writ their fate on stars
Riding on the trails of Astrology
Where galactic bodies light or mar
Their finite human destiny.

Laying their journey on horizon's change,
On stars that dim while some are falling-
Whose distance is just too out of range
That their heavenly course is so perplexing.

Why mark your days on the axis of fire?
Flaming rocks beyond our scrutiny?
Gauging decisions and times of desire,
Is like gambling your life and your destiny.

Obsolete ways from old centuries past
Ambiguous methods that fail to mark
Human intelligence that can truly cast
Definite steps to a Goal it embarks.
