Obvious Antagonist Poem by moon batchelder

Obvious Antagonist

oh, i get it!
i remember now...
this is the part where
the excruciatingly sensitive,
highly evolved protagonist
of our story,
eyes wide open [of course],
cast his heart - a willing sacrifice
to the careless mouth
of the shallow, flighty,
probably unworthy -
tho perhaps only lazy -
beloved,
who, being incapable of love,
[read depth],
rolls right over his very soul!
right?
and then...and then,
when he tries to
awaken the beloved,
to reach deep down inside of her,
[he doesn't like to call it rape],
to make her feel, ...
something...
and she... well she
simply slinks away,
the obvious antagonist,
yeah, i remember now!
