Occupational Hazard (Revised) Poem by Barry Jablonski

Occupational Hazard (Revised)

I see him just a swingin’
From the ole hangin’ tree
You know from this angle
He looks a lot like me

He got hisself arrested
For rustlin’ and a stealin’
Myself, I've been known
To do some double dealin’

Yes this town is wide open
For a feller just like me
I’ve got to be real careful
Not to decorate their tree

Easy money to be had…
If you know where to look
You can’t make it workin’
That’s why I am a crook

The sheriff's been a watchin’
So its time that I skedaddle
I’ll be makin’ real fast tracks
Using his horse and saddle
