Oceans Poem by Heart Of Ink

Oceans

Have you ever felt like slipping fast?
In your own space of doubt like that
Have you ever felt like somethings never last
But some of them do, you'll either find them or they'll find you

Sailing in the undertone of space
Searching for that hidden place
In this dead and darkened desert
Will I be condemned forever?

My heart's filled with neglected emotions
Treasures found in the depths of the oceans
Wrestling against the tides that cause erosion
Oh, some of them do, you'll either break them or they'll break you

Reaching far from our sight
Searching for an oasis of light
In this vast and weathering land
Will our souls one day withstand?

Always going forwards in belief
Despite what we hear, despite what we see
We're lost ships with no flags or identities
We're invading the ocean of opportunities

With an anthem of hope we hold on to
A world that's between fiction and truth
Never looking back on our cursed roots
They'll either break us or we'll break loose

Nothing stands solid in this ever-shaking world
Besides the sun, the clouds and the horizon, girl
Everything's bound to the ocean and its pearls
But with every breath within my lungs
My heart's beating itself like a drum
And here I begin to wonder for sure
Perhaps we were meant for something more
