Ode To A Friend Poem by Lanre Samuel

Ode To A Friend

Dear Confidant,
It started out as an idle hands
Sitting close to an open window,
Lost in the world of loneliness,

You're the closest that I
have ever felt,
You're always there when
I need to pour my emotions out,
You listen to my thoughts and
Never judge me once,
You're my perfect companion.

We flow deep into the wild
And stream into the wind
Where true wisdom lies,
To meet Euterpe
The perfect muse.

You came as a ray of light
Like a cheer angel with
No wings and ready to
Stay till the end of night.

You showed me the path
To ponder deeply,
My heart will forever be open
When you come knocking.
