Ode To A Friend Poem by T J Morgan

Ode To A Friend

Rating: 3.5

Born into humble surroundings
taught by his mother
work hard and earn your rewards
and you'll go far.

A gentleman, indeed
shouldering his burden with no complaints
testing his limits and striving to give more
He went far.

Missing his home country
concentrated on toiling
gave his utmost
went too far.

Soft brown eyes
now opaque, unseeing
Four strong legs
will go no more.

Rest well, dear friend
You gave your all
enjoy your freedom
and work no more.
