Ode To An Unknown Friend Poem by Rohan Roy

Ode To An Unknown Friend

Rating: 4.3

You dont show it always
but I know that you care.

Your My unknown friend
If i ever need you, I know you'd be there.

I'm glad you're my friend.
And will stay this way till the very end

My smile makes you smile
My pain makes you sad

Sometimes you make me happy
Sometimes you make me mad

You and I are different
And in many ways the same

Your good ear, compassionate heart,
will always find you fame

The more I get to know you
The more I know myself

As long as we are together
Happiness is going to come itself

This poet has yet to master his craft; juvenilia at best.

your poem is fascinating for me. it remembered me a story about Guardian-Angels)))) Unknown Friend - is a spirit by you, he smiles when you are happy and cries when sadness comes into your soul... I like the poem, it has good meaning and nice way of writing. keep it up. future belongs to you

I enjoyed this poem. Though, there are some tense issues present (I suppose they could be in there on purpose) . The repetition coupled with the short, two-line stanzas give the poem an almost childish demeanor - very reminiscent of Dr. Seuss. Perhaps it is the message that is seussical, as well. Overall, the poem works and is well written. The only problem I had with it is the last line, and it's not really a problem, per se. The word 'gonna' just feels so out of place with the rest of the diction choices. When I read the line it stopped me. I haven't decided if it was a good or bad stop.
