Ode To The Moon Poem by Bijaylaxmi Sarangi

Ode To The Moon

Several nights has been elapsed
in solitude and in gaiety
I was there and was there
the dense forest of my dream
oh darling moon........
only that was your void........
since long days I was wanting you.......
in my window along the group of stars.....
but never searched you in open sky.
how nescient am I....!
bounded you by such narrow scope......

carrying a hare on your bosom.......
you are the beginning of all benignity.....
poor I, the petty being........
burn each day, in the fire of my desire.......
in the narrow ambit of....
funeral of my life......
I am that half done stanza
of an unknown poem..........
where all my lines seemed broken......
where have the broken lines
been buried.........
searching here and there
in the desert of life......
sometimes murmuring my heart.........
what gain in searching.......?
will it be able cooling down
all sufferings.........!

after so long days
this auspicious meeting of ours............
besides you and me,
no body is there.......
now all my wishes
will be freed before you........
for I have not met you
in my windows since long days
don't think I have forgotten your kindness
I cherish for you now and for all.............
You are my sole refuse oh moon darling...
make me a floating cloud..........
then will be cooled by your touch,
the core of my soul........

how novel this night is.........!
on this earth everywhere
festival of your lights......
in the blue river,
on the far mountain and
on the branches of trees......
make me also wet in the flood
of your white light........
for I am your beloved
in your white arms hold me tight.......
hold me tight...........
