Of Life's Lesson's Learned... Poem by Theodora (Theo) Onken

Of Life's Lesson's Learned...

Rating: 5.0

Pensive as this moment
.....Long past as days of before
Comes flashing 'cross my deep rooted hours
Opening wide 'memories haunted door';

Clearer than ever are they...
The seconds- the minutes - they simply roll
Some are treasured - some regret filled
Leaving permanent imprints upon my soul;

Oh to go back to those 'lost days'
Perhaps, only to alter those of enormous regret
If, only, to erase the sorrowful mistakes...
That have left me with a pile of: 'I am sorry' debt;

Reflection's can be good for one's soul...
...But only, if lesson's are learned
Perhaps, then to live out the rest of our moments
With only joyous memories honorably earned!

You are in a solemnly reflective mood today- -no Theo effervescence today but that is a right path to choose because the topic deserves a serious presentation- - - - -.Clearer than ever are they... The seconds- the minutes - they simply roll Some are treasured - some regret filled Leaving permanent imprints upon my soul; - - - - - - - - - - vision of a prophet here. I have learned one of life's lessons- - - never pass up a Theo Onken poem because you only succeed in short-changing yourself!

Susan, thank you so much! So sorry, i have been so remiss. Always look forward to your reviews-they are as good - as your poetry. You missed your calling- -Siskel & Ebert just thought they were the best! This one was written straight from my heart and soul. Again, dear Susan, i thank you! ! !
